Jigawa state is one of the states with large Muslim populations of about 99% (Villavicencio, 2012). It is also among the poorest states in Nigeria, with majority of its population living below the poverty line, and more than 70% of the populace are rural farmers (Villavicencio, 2012). Though there is high commitment of the Jigawa state government in agricultural revolution in the state (Hamagam, 2017), access to financing is the major impediment preventing farmers from investing in basic inputs, such as good seeds, fertilizers and small-scale irrigation needed to raise productivity and sustainable income (Ogbeh, 2016). Therefore, the objectives of this research are: (1) to examine whether or not perceived benefit will influence smallholder (rice and wheat) farmers’ intention to accept Islamic microfinancing, (2) to examine whether or not social influence will influence smallholder farmers to accept Islamic financing, (3) to examine whether or not government support will influence smallholder farmers to accept Islamic microfinancing, (4) to examine whether or not religiosity will influence smallholder farmers to accept Islamic microfinancing, and (5) to examine whether or not awareness will influence smallholder farmers to accept Islamic microfinancing.
